The Spruce Pine Potters Market is a special event that happens every year right here in the mountains of western North Carolina. It’s run entirely by a group of local ceramic artists—people like me—who live and work in a two-county area known for its strong craft traditions. This region has a long, rich history of handmade work, and the nearby Penland School of Craft has helped attract artists from all over the country, many of whom now call this place home.

What makes this show truly stand out is the incredible variety and quality of the pottery on display. We’re a tight-knit group of makers, each with our own voice and style, coming together to create a vibrant and inspiring event. It’s a chance for visitors to meet the artists, learn about the work, and take home something truly special.
I’m proud to be one of the founding members of the Spruce Pine Potters Market. Being part of this community—and helping shape this show from the beginning—has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey as a potter.
